Ingredients:
  • 1 lemon-sized tamarind ball soaked
  • 2 tomatoes chopped
  • ½ tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp rasam powder
  • 1 tsp black pepper crushed
  • 2 garlic cloves smashed
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • Curry leaves mustard seeds, dried red chili (for tempering)
  • Salt to taste

Method
 

Instructions:
  1. Extract tamarind juice and set aside.
  2. Boil with tomatoes, turmeric, rasam powder, garlic, and pepper.
  3. Simmer until frothy.
  4. Prepare tempering with oil, mustard seeds, curry leaves, and red chili.
  5. Pour over rasam and serve hot.

  • Pairs well with papad or dry sabzi.
