Ingredients (Makes 10–12 modaks | Prep Time: 20 mins | Cook Time: 25 mins)
For stuffing:
  • 1 cup grated coconut fresh
  • ¾ cup jaggery grated
  • ½ tsp cardamom powder
  • 1 tbsp ghee
For outer cover:
  • 1 cup rice flour
  • cups water
  • 1 tsp ghee
  • A pinch of salt

Cooking Instructions
  1. Prepare filling: Heat ghee, add coconut and jaggery. Stir until mixture thickens. Add cardamom and let cool.
  2. Make dough: Boil water with ghee and salt. Add rice flour gradually, mix, and cover for 5 mins. Knead into smooth dough.
  3. Shape modaks: Take small dough balls, flatten into cups, stuff with coconut mixture, and shape into modaks.
  4. Steam: Place modaks in steamer for 10–12 mins until glossy.
