  • 500 g medium prawns cleaned
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 2 medium onions sliced
  • 2 tomatoes chopped
  • 6 dry red chilies
  • 1 tbsp coriander seeds
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tbsp tamarind pulp
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • Salt to taste

Method
 

Instructions:
  1. Grind chilies, coriander, cumin into a paste.
  2. Heat oil, sauté onions and tomatoes until soft.
  3. Stir in spice paste, turmeric, tamarind, and salt. Cook for 5 minutes.
  4. Add prawns, simmer gently for 10 minutes.
  5. Stir in coconut milk, cook another 5 minutes.
  6. Serve hot.

Notes

Serving Suggestions:
  • Serve with steamed rice or Goan red rice.
  • Pair with fried papad and pickle.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
